David Wood's work has been shown in Exhibitions in Leeds, York, Saddleworth, Scarborough, Ilkley, Birmingham, Eastbourne, Hull, Rickmansworth and Unna (Germany). He has had One-Man shows in Batley, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Lincoln, Holmfirth, Leeds, Bradford, Bolton and regularly at the Stables Gallery in Trawden. He has had five very successful One-Man Shows in Germany, most recently in 2004. His paintings are in private and public collections in the UK, Germany, USA, France, Austria and Eire.
One of his 'postcard' designs was a runner up in the recent Saunders Waterford postcard competition
David Wood trained as a Painter and Lithographer at Wakefield College of Art and as an Art Teacher at the Regional College of Art, Manchester. He also has an M.A.in Drama and Theatre Arts from Leeds University. A number of well-known artists were his pupils, including Damien Hirst, Marcus Harvey and Christopher P Wood. He has done much Stage Design work for Dewsbury Arts Group and for other amateur and professional companies. He is a playwright under the name of David Foxton, with plays published both in the UK and the USA.
